Benefits of Sports & Remedial Massage

The benefits of massage have been well known to physicians and healers throughout the past 5000 years. Today it’s benefits have been confirmed scientifically and many medical practitioners including Doctors, Physiotherapists and Chiropractors recommend massage as part of a rehabilitation plan. Whether you are recovering from a soft tissue injury, or trying to prevent one from occurring in the first place, we can help.

I know, you probably wanted a longer answer to that one, and there are hundreds of websites out there that will answer that for you, but the answer really is this simple. Massage will loosen tight muscles preventing injury and, massage in conjunction with other therapies that we provide including exercise, stretching, mobilisations, dry needling and taping can improve rehabilitation prospects and timelines.

How often should I get a maintenance massage?

It’s totally up to you, your lifestyle and budget of course. However there is a general rule of thumb that a lot of our clients follow.
– If you’re working out, training, and/or playing competitive sport 5+ days a week you should consider a weekly or fortnightly massage.
– If you’re working out, training, and/or playing competitive sport 3-4 days a week you should consider a fortnightly massage.
– If you’re working out, training, and/or playing competitive sport 1-2 days a week you should consider a monthly massage.
– If you’re
doing less than that just come in when your body tells you it needs it haha!
